Well, the title says it all “Ruby Wedding Anniversary” you don’t see many of those now a days! So a huge congratulations to Pam and Ian and the wonderful organisation skills of their rather grown up children! We spent the day with the happy couple and it was a lovely occasion in Kingsclere near Newbury. The golf course was a perfect venue with some fantastic views across the golf course. As the guests arrived we took some natural photographs of them socialising and having a good old catch up. We then took some group photographs with the original best man and bridesmaids and of course some photographs with their children and grandchildren. They both still looked wonderfully happy and enjoyed every minute of the day. Once we had taken the photographs they enjoyed a lovely meal and we dashed off to develop some of the group photographs and family photographs as they had requested a few pictures be put in an album ready for the speeches after the meal! The album was a surprise present for the couple and a challenge for us! We managed to get back in time for their daughter to present them with the album once the speeches were over. The son did a wonderful speech as did the couple celebrating their Ruby Wedding Anniversary. One thing that sticks in my mind from the husbands’ speech is, I quote ‘To us we still feel the same as we did when we first got married but our bodies have just grown older.’ I have often wondered about how life will be in about 30 years and how much we will change. It’s reassuring to know that we will always be the same person but look older and less able to ride horses or run the London marathon! Once again, Congratulations to a wonderful couple and it was an honour to be part of their celebrations.
